>>And how do you explain the differences in pressure for a follicle such as Dr. Gho's where the upper 2/3 of a follicle is extracted from the back of the head via a small needle. This is transplanted into the recipient site and multiple hairs grow in the place, keeping in mind that a portion of a single hair supporting structure was transplanted, and the apparent healthy hair growth of the multiple hairs appears to be due to the action of stem cells interacting with the recipient epidermis? <<
I think it is important to draw a distinction here JB.
I am refering to the way hydraulics could influence the hair cycle in the normal course of things. Once you start talking about transplantation or even injections, the normal parameters for cell growth change.
In such procedures you are invoking a healing response. There is evidence that contact inhibition is modified to a degree in the healing process (scar tissue for example tends to grow thicker) It is perfectly logical that the chemistry induced in HM type procedures could grow follicles. However, if these subsiquently cycle normaly, the hydraulic factor could then effect these?
I think the important point here is if contact inhibition is the restricting growth factor in MPB, and we can address this, why bother with complex, invasive, (expensive) treatments?
