Yes it is true. Body hair when transplanted into the scalp somehow changes and starts acting like scalp hair. In one case a chest hair (which usually grows to about an inch on the chest) was logged at over 6 inches and still growing. Apparentely something happens to the hair and it starts performing like a scalp hair. It also becomes straighter mimicking your other hairs. It would seem like a perfect solution, but there are two problems. One is the time it takes to remove the hairs via follicle extraction (ala Woods) is very very time consuming and needs special equipment. Another thing is scarring. Even though the needles used are tiny, I think if you have 70,000 little scars it would be noticeable.

A more likely solution to "cure" a NW7 would be to set a special clinic somewhere where labor is cheap and qualified professionals are abundant (such as India) and have them install a coverage of body hairs (say 20,000 hairs). Then a couple of months later go to another clinic such as Woods and use donor area on the scalp to fill in the gaps and to setup a nice hairline. At the moment Woods charges almost $7000 to transpant 300 body hairs, that is double the rate he charges for scalp hair. Apparentely it is much more difficult to remove body hairs than it is to remove scalp hair by FE.
