I'm 28. Started thinning at 18. Got on minox 2% right away...did fine. Started 5% minox when it came out and then Propecia when it was introduced. Never had enough hairloss to worry about it. Eight months ago, got a dye job and used a new gel which I had an allergic reaction to. This also sensitized me to minox at the time. In these eight months, I've gone from a NW 1.5-2 all the way to a NW 3-4 vertex. That's why I'm here...looking for answers and trying to help others along the way. My regimen may not be useful to you. But, in these eight months I've gone from the standard 5%minox 2/day and 1mg propecia and worked all the way up to 5mg finasteride, viviscal, folligen, topical spiro, nisim shampoo, msm, green tea, grapeseed, saw palmetto, topical minox, emu oil and arimidex at one point.
After all that, I got worn out. So, I'm now on 2% topical minox in the morning (once it dries, the little powder helps to help my hair look fuller...kind of like Toppik) and it hasn't been irritating like the 5% was (at least for one week now). I use folligen spray tuesday and thursday night to help give a little color to the finer hairs. I started loniten at 2.5mg twice a day about 4-5 weeks ago and oral spiro at 50mg once a day about 7 weeks ago. I'm on 5mg finasteride and 320 of saw palmetto twice a day.
By the way, I'm still losing hair like I was eight months ago...my appearance literally changes every couple of weeks.
